About Us

The Club meets on the penultimate Saturday of every month throughout the year (except August) at the Settle Social Club, Duke Street, Settle. Formal start at 8.30pm in the Concert room. Special occasions may start earlier and take on a different format to the normal Club nights. See the Calendar page for what's on & when!

Although Sally Wright sadly passed away in 2010, a nucleus of regular singers & musicians still form the core of the Club and these include Lizz Cook, Harvey Lomas, Alan Holmes, Stuart Douglas,.Frank Wood, Stu Arnott, Paul Morris, Jeff Wright, Julian Hide, Ian & Elaine Wood.& many more.

Harmony & Chorus singing is the norm but singer/songwriters are welcomed to perform self penned material as well as more traditional Folk music.

With the increase in Summer visitors, the Club sees more "passing trade" between Spring & Autumn, but Winter nights can be really cosy when the weather gets chilly outside and tourists are few on the ground.

There is a large car park behind the Social Club accessed from Station Road & Ashfield. The Club Committee kindly permits motorhomes etc. to put down overnight on Folk Club nights in the car park and this saves on fees in the public car parks elsewhere in the Town!

NB for followers of the 3 Peaks Folk Club regarding the parking of Motorhomes & Caravans.

Firstly, the car park at the rear of the Settle Social Club has been sub-let to a parking contractor and charges have been applied for general parking on there.

I have been asked by the Committee via the Steward to request that any of our 3 Peaks members who intend parking on the Club car park not to arrive & park there before 5pm at the earliest on Folk Club nights in order to park without charge.

This is with immediate effect! Dated 18th July 2018.

For Trafalgar weekend, which obviously incorporates the Friday, Saturday and Sunday days as well as evenings, a separate rule for Attendees shall be determined by the Social Club Committee at a later date.

Refer to the Calendar page for dates of this weekend?
